Laboratory ventilation is an indispensable part of laboratory design, serving to exhaust air and ventilate the laboratory. To prevent laboratory personnel from inhaling or ingesting toxic, pathogenic, or toxicologically unknown chemical substances and organisms, laboratories must be equipped with effective ventilation systems. To avoid inhalation of vapors, gases, and particulates (smoke, soot, dust, and aerosols), contaminants must be removed using fume hoods, ventilation hoods, or local ventilation methods.
The fume hood is the most commonly used local exhaust device in laboratories. It comes in a wide variety of types, and its exhaust performance varies due to differences in structure and operating conditions. The performance of a fume hood mainly depends on the velocity of air passing through it. Safety is the ultimate goal of fume hood design; laboratories use fume hoods to ensure user safety and prevent environmental contamination.
A slotted exhaust structure is adopted to effectively discharge harmful gases.
Streamlined handle design with a gap between the handle and the glass sash. Air rotates across the work surface, ensuring efficient air intake.
The sash is equipped with anti-falling pins to catch the glass sash in case the steel cable breaks or the sash drops accidentally, preventing injury to personnel.
The glass sash is made of tempered glass, which will not cause injury even if broken or shattered by impact.
Ventilation holes are provided at the top of the fume hood to allow air intake even when the glass sash is closed, avoiding excessive negative pressure.
The outer casing of the fume hood is made of metal materials for fire resistance and non-combustibility. The interior chamber uses flame-retardant or non-combustible materials such as compact laminate board and stainless steel plate. The work surface adopts solid chemical-resistant board or stainless steel plate, which is acid-alkali resistant, heat-resistant, and flame-retardant.
The effective height of the glass sash is 800 mm, the inner chamber height is 1200 mm, and the work surface height is 800 mm. These dimensions conform to ergonomics, facilitating operation, providing ample working space, and improving safety.
Remote control handles for water taps and gas taps are installed outside the cabinet, offering greater convenience and safety compared with direct manual operation.
